Farnham Round Table

Hogs Back Brewery Trip 10

On Friday 15th October 14 strong men undertook the Hogs Back Brewery Tour in Tongham, Farnham. Led by Mr 'Xenophobia' Melvyn who writes books under a pseudonym (cant remember his professional name as was a bit bladdered by the end of the experience) the tour lasted around 2 hours and involved a bit of history and a bit more drinking.

Over the 2 hours we learnt about how beer is brewed and the difference between bitter and real ale (again the detail escapes me). The tour was really very good and it amazed us all how such a small operation can brew over 2.5 million pints a year.

4 beers were tasted throughout the evening, increasing in strength throughout, totaling somewhere between 4 and 6 pints per man (a bargain at £10 per head including a branded glass).

Taxis were ordered and 14 slightly less steady men were delvered to the Mahaan Curry House on East Street (via the Slug and Lettuce at Gareth's insistence where the Chairman took to the Gin)

Curry was good as far as I remember as was the beer and Gin in the Cobbett.

Two worthy events of the evening both involved Vice Chairman Brooks. Firstly incurring the wroth of a young tramp outside the Church on South Street and then taking control of the Chairmans iphone and changing his facebook status much to the disgust of....everyone!

Roll on go-karting in November.......
